 Even Though We Have Lots of Photos from Our Road Trip,  Jovi and Myself Still Took a Drive to Cougar Reservoir  and Explored and Enjoyed the Day After Church

Odell Lake Oregon

This large lake is 3562 acres, 6 miles long and 1 1/2 miles wide, and reaches a depth of 282 ft . The average depth is 132 ft. which makes it ideal habitat for lake trout (Mackinaw) and bull trout. Rainbow trout, kokanee salmon and whitefish also naturally reproduce in this lake. Odell Lake is managed as a trophy lake trout fishery and has the distinction of the last two state record lake trout being caught here.  . The current state record is a 40 lb 8 oz 45.5 inch long giant caught in 1984 by Kenneth Erickson. Bull trout is listed as a threatened species with the US Fish and Wildlife Service and is thus closed to angling. Lowell State Recreation Area

Lowell State Recreation Site sits on the North shore of Dexter Lake, next to the city of Lowell.  Today on the Lake there were Rowers,  was interesting  to watch, usually you see fishermen and women  This day use park has it all!  A reservable picnic shelter overlooks the lake and a wooded picnic area.  A playground, basketball court, and flush restroom are all nearby.   Sailboats, water skiers, anglers, paddlers and rowers take advantage of the full lake levels maintained year round.  Oregon Association of Rowers and the University of Oregon have boathouses at the park, and host Regattas (rowing races) each spring.  If you're looking for a bit more speed, check out the drag boat races at the park each summer! Lowell Covered Bridge,  No Cars can go across but you can still check it out on foo t  Jovi and Myself had a good time today it was a beautiful day we saw this lake and other places
